Rebuilding Interior Center Zen's online store to sell 1,300+ configurable products

How DeqVision migrated a complex home interiors catalogue from Shopiko to Shopify, redesigned the brand, and turned hard-to-order products into an easy online buying experience.

Client Quote

Our products are not simple to sell online. Every door, every floor has its own specifications, and our old website made that harder than it needed to be. DeqVision understood the catalogue, rebuilt the site in a month, and gave us a brand we're proud to put in front of customers. Now people can configure and order online, or pick up in store, without calling us first.

Market: Europe

Migrate a growing home interiors retailer to a modern ecommerce platform, make complex products simple to order online, and build a foundation that supports both online sales and in-store pickup across multiple locations.

When the product is complex, the buying experience has to be simple.

The challenge

Interior Center Zen sells interior doors, laminate flooring, and home interior products across Europe. The products were strong, but the online store was working against them.

The catalogue was the core problem. Over 1,300 SKUs, split into product groups with individual specifications. Doors had to be ordered with a left or right opening, a specific type of casing, and one of several colours. Laminate was priced per pack, while customers think in square metres. Products for the same room lived in different categories with different attributes, and the category pages had no filters capable of handling that.

On top of that, the site sat on Shopiko, a platform that limited what could be built. Search was hard to use, the header was cluttered, and mobile page speed was around 50, which for a high-consideration product is enough to lose the sale before it starts. The brand identity was outdated and AI-generated, which did not communicate the quality of the products.

The challenge was not a redesign. It was migrating a complex catalogue to a new platform, restructuring how products are configured and ordered, and giving the brand a look that matches what it sells.

The execution

We treated the project as a full ecommerce rebuild, delivered in one month: platform migration, catalogue architecture, product configuration, brand identity, and design working as one system.

Migration and catalogue structure

We migrated the full store from Shopiko to Shopify and rebuilt the catalogue from the ground up. All 1,300+ SKUs were configured into product groups, each with its own attribute set, so that colour, size, manufacturer, material, and room use could be structured consistently and used across the site.

Product configurators built for the way people buy

For doors, we built a configurator that walks the customer through opening direction, casing type, and colour, so the order arrives complete and correct. For laminate, we developed a calculator that lets customers enter their room size and see the price per square metre, not per pack, with the number of packs calculated automatically. This removed the biggest source of confusion and support calls.

Filters, search, and navigation

Category pages received filters tailored to each product group, so customers can narrow down by the attributes that actually matter for that category. We reorganised the entire header around how customers navigate the store and made search fast and prominent.

Brand identity and visual design

We replaced the old identity with a clean, modern visual system built around refined typography from our design team. The site received entirely new banners and visuals that present the products the way they deserve to be seen.

Online and in-store, connected

Interior Center Zen's customers often prefer to collect their products themselves. We added a store selector at checkout and a "pick up in store" option on every product page. The new website launched as the business expanded to a second physical location, giving customers a seamless way to shop online and collect locally.
